Carl is the founder and practice owner of New York Equine. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1978, he worked at Belmont and Aqueduct Racetracks and at private farms on Long Island with another equine veterinarian. He started his own practice in 1987, and has earned the respect of many for his knowledge and experience in sports medicine and chiropractic care for horses.
Dr. Durnin is the owner and practitioner of Long Island Mobile Veterinary Services. She is a 1994 Graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced both small and large animal care and emergency medicine on Long Island for over 20 years. She is certified by the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners in New York, Florida and Kentucky.
New England Equine Practice has been serving the veterinary medical needs of Patterson horses for over 40 years. Experienced in all types of medical and surgical conditions.
Alex Fiktus is a graduate of Ohio State college of Veterinary Medicine and has experience treating horses of all breeds and disciplines. After spending seven years as a sport-horse vet at Belmont Park, he now focuses his practice on integrative medicine – mainly acupuncture and spinal manipulation (chiropractic techniques). Alex resides in Manhattan where he fills his free time exploring the vibrant neighborhoods and culture.
Frank Urraro III has been a Lifelong Suffolk County resident and horseman. He spent his early formative years at Rice Farms in Huntington before attending horseshoeing school at California Poly. at San Luis Obispo. He served his apprenticeship before and after his Military service in Vietnam. Since then he has been in continuous service to Long Islands discerning horse owners. He has been a long standing member of the American Farriers Association. He has successfully trained several of Long Islands top practicing Farriers and for the past several years, with great pride, he has been practicing his craft with his son Frank IV.
